Summary

Princess Jacaerys is the oldest son of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, her heir and rightful heir to the Iron Throne according to those loyal to his mother and her claim upon King Viserys' death.

Prince Jacaerys Velaryon grew up in the Red Keep with his brother's Lucerys and Joffrey, raised primarily by their mother while their Lord father, Laenor Velaryon, spent his time more focused on anything but duty. Even as a child, Jacaerys was aware of whispers and rumors that his true father was Harwin Strong, his mother's sworn protector, and that her brown-haired sons had no Velaryon blood. Despite the rumors fueled by the King's Hand and his wife, Jacaerys had his grandfather's support as his mother did. As a child, King Viserys sat Jacaerys on his lap while seated on the Iron Throne and told him that the throne would one day be his.

When Rhaenyra took her family from the Red Keep to Dragonstone, Jacaerys enjoyed a sheltered childhood where he was raised watching his mother rule over Dragonstone. As he grew older, Jacaerys strived to be the best version of the future heir to the throne. This was partially out of his own insecurity about his parentage and also a desire not to give further reason for anyone to doubt his mother's claim due to him, Lucerys, or Joffrey.

When his grandfather died, Jacaerys became Crown Prince and his mother's heir though the Green's usurped her crown. He flew on his dragon, Vermax, and won the support of the Vale and the North to his mother's cause. Later, he would negotiate passage through the Twins for the Black's allied forces and proved himself a capable statesman despite his mother's effort to keep him away from the war effort.

Jacaerys continues to strongly support his mother's claim, and in turn his own, even when he finds himself in conflict with his mother's approach. He is fierce and loyal, a true prince of the realm.

Skills & Abilities

  • Swordsmanship
  • Strategy & Statesmanship
  • Flying a dragon
  • Hunting

  • Servitor

Jacaery's servitor is a manifestion of his fears and anxieties about his own complicated heritage. It is the loneliness underneath and the doubt of if he is worthy of love, of affection, of the life he has. A bastard should not exist so boldly in the world, in the position he's in, and the realm would be better without him if he cannot rise to expectations and prove himself worthy.

Description: The DΘ³Γ±es is a large creature, standing at nearly 8 feet tall with a surprisingly lithe frame. It has the head of a doe, its sclera are pure black, it's irises an unnaturally vibrant purple. When it opens its jowls, its teeth are sharp and its canines extend down like a vampire's fangs. It stands on two hooved feet and possesses long clawed hands, the left larger than the right. From its head, it grows a great set of stag's horns that seem ever covered in blood and shedding layers. And it is covered in chocolate brown fur. It moves with surprising grace for a creature seemingly sewn together, and possesses a voice that mimics whatever is most pleasing to its victim at the moment.

Behavior: While it appears like it could main a man with ease, the DΘ³Γ±es is quite weak. It lurks and tries to hide in the shadows, unseen as it lures its victims with the sound of a hypnotizing song in a lover's voice, the scent of something they've been craving. It seeks out loneliness, doubt, and those on the cusp of making decisions that will affect their bonds with others. It tries to lure them away taking any move, instead toward the shadows where it's safe, and it can turn them into pretty statues that will be forced to accept its company and be with it as it is.

It tries to collect no more than four statues at a time and will throw out a statue, releasing it from its frozen state, in a painful process that's much like defrosting, if it finds someone it deems better for its make-shift family.

    Abilities:
  • Sirens's song: The DΘ³Γ±es will mimic the voice of a close companion to it's victim, using either affection or fear to lure them close. While it's voice is a thrall, those affected might find it strange that their loved one can only sing at them, but are sure that those loved ones are close and it is difficult to convince them otherwise. Unfortunately, as they are drawn closer to the shadows, those they wish to desperately find seem ever out of reach and their voices turn from affection to cruel, whispering the victim's insecurities aloud in their voices that feel like they carry the weight of nothing but the truth. As they interact with others, they do not hear what is truly said to them but instead hear their insecurities reaffirmed.

  • Pheromones: CW: CANNIBALISM. Another lure, meant to draw its victims to its hiding place. Unfortunately, while it can release them its never quite in control of what they do but each time they bring a sense of loneliness and emptiness. Sometimes they drive its victims to lust for the pleasures of flesh, others to the desire to feast on flesh to fill that void. The poor souls that do wish to taste the DΘ³Γ±es itself will find themselves impaled on its horns. Having a friend nearby may be more ideal. Or not. The hunger and wretched loneliness subside when it is killed but distance helps as well.

  • Frozen Sight: Staring into the eyes of the DΘ³Γ±es too long, particularly in the shadows, it gifts its victims with visions of how much the lives of their close ones would be better without them. The longer the victims remain enthralled by its visions, they beging to lose their ability to speak, to see, to move until they grow cold and become living statues it can keep. The ability to hear goes the slowest but the reality before them grows louder than the world outside their minds. The effects last as long as the DΘ³Γ±es is alive or close.

  • Weaknesses: Groups of more than four people, pulling its victims out of its false reality, flames that warm its victims and scare the creature away from its dark hiding spots.
